Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective of the stories of the late 19th century, early 20th-century author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The character now ranks among the most famous characters in the world.
Holmes is best known for his intelligence and his ability to important conclusions to deduce from small, often seemingly insignificant clues.
About Holmes’ life stories is the little known. Given his age in the story “His Last Bow” can be concluded that he was born sometime in the year 1854 should be. Jan. 6 by most people as his birthday.
In the first Holmes story, “A Study in Scarlet” is any account of Holmes’ background. On 4 March 1881, he presented as an independent chemistry student with a range of special interests who together ensure that Holmes is a superior crime-solver (although fiddle and pipe smoking probably have little to do). In another early Holmes stories, “The Gloria Scott”, we are the first thing, and we hear that he has become a detective because a friend’s father complimented him with his ability to deduce.
There is also little mention of Holmes’ family. His parents are never mentioned, and in their own words are his ancestors squires . What is known is that he has an older brother named Mycroft, who appears in three stories: “The Greek Interpreter”, “The Final Problem” and “The Bruce-Partington Plans”.
Holmes spends most of his career as a detective with his good friend Dr.. Watson . Together they live in an apartment at 221B Baker Street. Watson pulls out of the apartment temporarily after his marriage in 1887, but returns after the death of his wife. The apartment is owned by Mrs.. Hudson , with whom Holmes has often controversy because of the chaos in his apartment.
Holmes is a total of 23 years active as a detective. In 1891, Conan Doyle shows Holmes in combat with his arch enemy Professor Moriarty to life. Continued pressure from fans, he decided in 1903 to breathe new life into Holmes (he writes in 1901 called the The Hound of the Baskervilles, that story is however, for his “death”). He leaves to survive his fall Holmes, and Holmes returns to London three years later, after the first by including Tibet have traveled.
